Fisherman’s Mass & Blessing of Boats: will take place on Sunday 10th July at 2pm on Castlebay Pier. We have missed having this wonderful celebration for nearly three years. Let us all come together with our Fishermen and pray for their safety and pray for those blessings to come down upon all their boats and upon all seafarers. Everyone is welcome to come!

Holy Mass & Burial of Ashes: Next Saturday (2nd July) there will be a Mass of Thanksgiving in memory of the late Gillian MacLean of Glasgow & Brevig- who died on 27th August 2021 and was cremated so that her ashes could be laid to rest on Barra. The Holy Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady Star of the Sea at 12 Noon with Fr. Colin MacInnes. After the Mass the Ashes of Gillian will be laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. All welcome to attend.

World Meeting of Families: In Rome from 22nd -26th June there is a World meeting of families in Rome. Pope Francis this weekend is gathering together families from all over the world to come together and pray together for the importance of the family. This year’s theme is “Family Love: a vocation and a path to Holiness”. Pope Francis encourages everyone to pray for the family. There is a lovely prayer card at the church entrance for everyone to take home and say the special prayer for the meeting of the families in Rome. Please take home a prayer card or please pass on the prayer card.

Castlebay Church Cleaning: If you can help in Castlebay church cleaning please let Canon John Paul know and a rota will be organised. It will be cleaned every 2nd week. Thank you to those who already put their names forward.
