CHURCH NOTICES
November Lists: One of the lovely things we can do during the month of November is to pray for our faithful departed. The Month of November is often called the Month of the Holy Souls. There are November Lists with envelopes available at the Church entrance. Please write down on the lists the names of any deceased family, relatives, friends or parishioners you would like to remember and pray for. Once you have filled in your list please place the list in the envelope provided along with your offering. These envelopes will then be placed upon the Altar at every holy Mass and those names you have written will be remembered at the Altar of God at each Mass in November.
Graveyard Rosary: during the month of November the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 3.00pm on:-
Sunday 7th November at Cuithir Cemetery;
Sunday 14th November at Vatersay Cemetery;
Sunday 21st November at Eoligarry Cemetery
Sunday 28th November at Borve Cemetery.
If the weather is poor we will say the Rosary in the nearest Church.
Remembrance Sunday: the service at the war memorial will be next Sunday- on Sunday 14th November at 2pm. We will gather at the Nask War memorial to lay our wreaths and have a 2 minute silence in remembrance of all those who have died in our great world wars.
Synod 2021-2023: Bishop Brian has written a short Pastoral letter regarding the Synodal process. Copies of the letter are available in the Church. Bishop Brian has appointed Fr Danny Convery (parish priest in Roybridge) as the Priest contact for this process alongside Marianne Lucchesi. They will send material to all parishes (in the weeks and months ahead) about what we should be doing in our parishes in preparation for Synod 2023. As Bishop Brian says “it is a good time to listen to one another in the church and have this important time of reflection. Of course prayer and the scriptures will be important to help us in our preparations”.
Fr. Emmanuel: since leaving Barra back in May 2019 for the mainland Fr. Emmanuel has been working in the parish of St. John’s in Caol and then latterly in the Visitation parish in Taynuilt. This coming week Fr. Emmanuel takes up a new post and will be working in the Cathedral Parish in Edinburgh for the next 3 years. We wish Fr. Emmanuel every blessing as he takes up his new position.
