Christmas Masses: today is Christmas Eve and the Mass times are as follows;

Christmas Eve– 7pm Northbay Family Mass (6.30pm Carol Service)

9pm  Vatersay

11pm Craigston  (10.30pm Carol Service)

Christmas Day-  9.30am   Eoligarry

11.30am  Castlebay Family Mass

St. Brendan’s Home: Fr. John Paul did plan to have Mass there on Christmas day but it would be too much- instead there will be Mass on Tuesday at 2.30pm.

News on Fr. Peter Banyard: Sadly Fr Peter will not be coming to Vatersay this year! Fr Peter has not been keeping well and it was decided that he should stay in Glasgow this year for Christmas and New Year. We hope and pray he will get better soon.

Church Cleaning: Fr. John Paul would like to thank everyone who cleaned and prepared our churches for Christmas. The churches are looking lovely for the season of Christmas. Why not over the Christmas season make a visit, a wee pilgrimage, round all 5 churches and say a prayer at each of the Cribs for your families and for the island.

Diocesan Appointments: Bishop Brian has appointed Fr. Colin MacInnes as the new Parish Priest of St. Mary’s in Benbecula and also Fr. Ross Crichton has been appointed parish priest of St. Peter’s in Daliburgh. Fr. Ross will continue to stay on Eriskay and from there he will look after the parish of Daliburgh. These appointments take immediate effect.
