Bhileag- Sunday 21st January 2018

Recent Funerals: we continue to remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Morag Mitchell who was laid to rest in Eoligarry Cemetery last Thursday 18th January. Also we remember the repose of the soul of Morag Campbell who was laid to rest in Vatersay Cemetery on Saturday 20th January. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Lapaich: after last week’s bad weather Fr John Paul sadly missed a few of the Lapaich- he will catch up with a few more housebound this week. As always if there is anyone you know who would appreciate a visit from the Priest please speak with Fr. John Paul.

Sign of Peace: for the next few weeks we will stop shaking hands at the “sign of peace” during Sunday Mass and weekday Mass. It is just a small way of trying to stop the spread of the Flu germ which can easily be passed on by shaking hands. There are many Churches and parishes and even whole Diocese in the UK which are putting in this temporary measure to help try in some small way to stop the spread of the Flu germ just now.

Confirmation Classes: the classes for Castlebay School will be every Wednesday afternoon, beginning this Wednesday 24th Jan. The classes will begin at 2.50pm and end at 3.30pm and then the children will catch the last bus home. It is planned that the Confirmations with Bishop Brian will be Saturday 21st April, the Saturday after Easter Holidays.

Eoligarry Graveyard Committee: wish to thank the “Sunday Whist Club” for their very generous donation of £500.00 towards the maintenance of Eoligarry Graveyard. Moran Taing!

Castlebay Church Cleaners: We are always looking for more helpers to add their names to the list. Would you be able to help?

Castlebay Readers Rota: please pick up the latest rota. If anyone would like to help out with readings at Mass especially with Gaelic readings could you speak with Fr. John Paul.
