Reserve a seat for Mass: If you wish to go to Sunday Mass please phone /text /email Canon John Paul and let him know which Mass you would like to go to. Please note that there is no Sunday Obligation at the moment.

 

Housebound visits: Canon John Paul is happy to visit any housebound with the Sacraments. Please just get in touch with him and a day and time can be organised.

 

Fr. Eric Studt: we warmly welcome to the island Fr. Eric, who is an American Jesuit priest who is based in Edinburgh just now doing further studies. He helped out last Christmas on the island with Masses for Christmas and New Year. He will stay over in the Vatersay Chapel House for a week. Fr. Eric will help Canon John Paul with the weekend Masses. We hope the weather will be kind to Fr. Eric as he is a very keen walker.

 

First Holy Communion: let us remember the boys and girls who will make their First Holy Communion today. In Castlebay Church it will be- Patrick Nicholson, Thomas Kearney, Breanna MacKechnie, Ciara Davidson, Maren Onarheim, Seumas Galbraith, Aimee MacKinnon, Iain Ruairidh MacLean, Caitlin MacNeil, Aonghas MacLeod, Ethan Boyd, Niamh Davidson and Robbie MacLean. In Northbay Church it will be –Michael O Carroll, Rowan Campbell, Ross Irving, John MacLeod, Michael MacLeod, Alanna MacNeil. That will be 19 Children over the 2 Sunday Masses today who will make their First Holy Communion.

Next Sunday (20th June) it will be 10 Children- Caralisa MacDougall, Sophie Walker, Ava Walker, Ross Galbraith, Calum MacNeil, Jamie MacNeil, Rachel MacNeil, Owen MacNeil, Mairi MacNeil and Seonaidh MacLean. Let us remember all the boys and girls in our prayers.

 

St. Columba Novena book: to mark the 1500th Anniversary of the birth of St. Columba there has been a lovely Novena booklet produced. The Novena has been done by Fr. Ross Crichton on Eriskay. The prayers in the Novena booklet are English, Gaidhlig and Irish Gaelic. The booklet costs £3.95. They are available at the back of Northbay and Castlebay Church.  St. Columba…….pray for us.

 

Prayers for the Faithful departed: We extend our prayers of sympathy to the family of Rhoda MacInnes of Tangusdale who passed away last Wednesday. Rhoda’s remains were taken to Oban and her funeral will be in Oban on Friday 18th June in Oban. May she rest in peace. We remember also those whose anniversaries which occur about now:- Mary MacCormick (Earsary), Lach MacLean (Craigston), Domhnall MacLean (Craigston & Stornoway), Mary Catherine MacNeil (Ardveenish), Donald Joseph MacNeil (Bruernish), Donald Angus MacNeil (Nask), Mary Catherine Stenair (Tangusdale), Morag Binnie ( Borve), Morag MacNeil (Tigh na Mara), Donald Angus Anndra (Ledaig).  Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon. May they rest in peace. Amen..
