Xaverian Mission Appeal: we warmly welcome Fr. Stephen McKend to the parishes this weekend as he makes a Mission Appeal on behalf of the Xaverian Fathers. There will be a second collection at all the Masses for the Mission Appeal. Please be as generous as you can to the appeal.  We hope that Fr. Stephen has a lovely time on his first visit to the island. Fr. Stephen will also look after the Masses on Monday and Tuesday while Fr. John Paul is away.

Recent Funerals: we remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of DONALD ANGUS MacNEIL (Don Dhuchain) of Ardmhor who peacefully passed away in hospital in Glasgow on Monday 6th May at the age of 76. Don’s Requiem Mass took place on Friday 10th May in St. Barr’s in Northbay and thereafter Don was laid to rest in Eoligarry cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

We also pray for the repose for the soul of MAIRI MacRURY of St. Barr’s Crescent in Northbay who peacefully passed away in her own home at the age of 75.  Mairi’s Requiem Mass took place on Friday 10th May in St. Barr’s in Northbay and thereafter Mairi was laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Lapaich: please note the housebound will be visited on the week beginning Monday 20th May.

Fr. John Paul: is away this weekend (11th/12th May) in his role as Vocations Director to preach in the parish of St. Mary’s in Fort William. He will return on Tuesday 14th May.

Eoligarry Vigil Mass: next weekend on Saturday 18th May there will be the extra Vigil at 4pm in St. Vincent’s in Eoligarry.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations: on this 4th Sunday of Easter we offer a special prayer for more Vocations to the Priesthood & Religious life especially for our own Diocese of Argyll & the Isles. May the Good Shepherd guide those hearts which are discerning a Vocation- to help them say “YES” to the call of the Shepherd and so enrich our Diocese and church with more Priests and Religious. Prayer is so important so please offer to say a Rosary in this month of May for the intention of more vocations for our Diocese.
