Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal: we have all been saddened by the images on TV of the recent earthquake which happened in Southern Turkey and Northern Syria. A lot of devastation and over 24,000 lives have been lost. So many people needing help and support and everything happening in the middle of a cold winter. SCIAF & MARY’S MEALS are two charities along with many others trying to help. You can go along to one of their websites and simply donate online appeal. Also the 2nd Collection at all Masses this weekend will be given to SCIAF for the earthquake disaster appeal.
Lapaich (Housebound): please get in touch with Canon John Paul if there is anyone you know who would appreciate a visit from the Priest especially with Holy Communion.
Parish 200 Club: We will restart the parish 200 club now. The annual subscription is £12. There are various ways to give the subscription. Please pass the envelope with £12 to Canon John Paul or to leave the envelope in the Sunday Collection basket or to leave at Buth Buidesar /Top Shop or to leave it with Mary Sarah at 20 St. Brendan’s Road. Once we collect all the subscriptions we will then make the first draw for the months of January & February. Sadly over the last couple of years we have lost quite a few names in the Club and we are always looking for new names for the Parish 200 Club. If you wish to join then please see Canon John Paul or contact Mary Sarah (810539). Thanks for all your support.
Led by the Spirit: The Diocesan Discernment process will come under the title- LED BY THE SPIRIT. Please pick up one of the prayer cards which Bishop Brian left and to use the prayer card to pray to the Holy Spirit for our Diocese. There is also a special diocesan website which you can visit for more information on what is going on in the Diocese in regard the discernment process – www.ledbythespirit.rcdai.org.uk
The Scottish Catholic Magazine: Sadly the decision has been made to stop publishing the Catholic magazine because of rising costs of paper and printing materials. Instead things will “go digital” which means you will have to go online and go to the Scottish Catholic website or social media channels and news & articles will be available online.
