Recent Death: we pray for the repose of the soul of JOHN CAMPBELL (Non Fhearchair of Tangusdale) who passed away in St. Brendan’s Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday 23rd October at the age of 78. Non’s Requiem Mass took place on Friday 26th October in St. Brendan’s Craigston and thereafter Non was laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light sine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

October Devotions: today 28th October there will be Rosary and Benediction in St. Brendan’s in Craigston at 4.00pm.

Lapaich: Fr. John Paul will visit the housebound this week. Monday- Glen, Brevig, Horve. Tuesday- Northbay & Eoligarry. Wednesday- Horve, Craigston, Vatersay. Please speak to Fr. John Paul if there is anyone you know who is housebound and would like to receive the sacraments.

Holyday of Obligation: Thursday 1st November is the Solemnity of ALL SAINTS and is a Holyday of Obligation. We are obliged to go to Holy Mass on this day. Please note the times of the Masses above.

All Souls Day: Friday 2nd November is All Souls day- a day we offer prayers for our faithful departed. As well as Mass in Vatersay at 10am there will be an evening Mass in Northbay at 7.00pm.

November Lists: The month of November is the month of the Holy souls -when we pray for all our deceased family, relatives, friends, parishioners and all the holy souls who have no one to pray for them. There are envelopes with November lists available in the church and on the lists we write the names of any deceased family we wish to remember. Once you have filled in your list and put in your offering please pass on the envelope to one of the Priests and they will be placed into the Book of Life.

Following in St. Peter’s Footsteps: St. Peter’s parish in Daliburgh is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a pilgrimage to Rome next year. It will be from Monday 20th May- Friday 24th May and the total cost of the pilgrimage including travel is £638. If you are interested in going please contact Fr. Castlebay Altar Servers: a practice for new Altar servers will be on Sunday 4th Nov at 1.30pm.

GRAVEYARD  ROSARY: An important custom in the month of November is to visit our graveyards and to pray the holy Rosary for our faithful departed. The Rosary will be prayed at 3.00pm on the following Sundays;

Sunday 11th Nov- CUITHIR

Sunday 18th Nov- EOLIGARRY

Sunday 25th Nov- BORVE

Come along and pray for the faithful departed especially those who have died this last year; since last November. If the weather is very poor we go to the nearest church.
