Recent Deaths: we pray for the repose of the soul of Peggy MacNeil (Peigi Ipeil of Upper Borve) who suddenly passed away on Sunday 27th October in St. Brendan’s Hospital at the age of 79. Peggy’s Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 30th October at 11am in St. Brendan’s in Craigston.

We also pray for the repose of the soul of Neil Joseph MacLean (Tinan) of St. Brendan’s Road who peacefully passed on Monday 28th October at the age of 74. Tinan’s Requiem Mass will be on Thursday 31st October in Our Lady Star of the Sea at 11.30am.

Recent Funerals: we pray for the repose of the soul of MARTHA MACDONALD (Martha Dhuchain) of Bogach who passed away last Sunday 20th October in her own home in Bogach at the age of 88. Martha’s requiem Mass took place on Wednesday 23rd October in St. Barr’s and afterwards Martha was laid to rest in Eoligarry graveyard.

We also remember  pray for the repose of the soul of MARGARET  DONALD of Caolis in Vatersay who peacefully passed on Thursday 24th October in St. Brendan’s Hospital at the age of 87. Margaret’s Requiem Mass took place on Saturday 26th October in Our Lady of the Waves & St. John on Vatersay and then Margaret was laid to rest in Vatersay graveyard.   Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Holyday of Obligation: this coming Friday- the 1st November- is the Solemnity of All Saints Day and is a holy day of obligation. 10am in Northbay; 11.30am in Craigston & 7pm in Castlebay.

All Souls Day: please note next Saturday there will be 2 morning Masses so that we can remember in a special way our faithful departed. Mass at 10am in Castlebay and 11.30am in Northbay.

November Lists: The month of November is coming and the Month of November is the Month of the Holy Souls. It is a very important Month in which we are encouraged to pray for the Holy Souls, to pray for the faithful departed, praying for all our deceased family, relatives and friends. Please take home with you a November List and envelope. Please write down the names of any deceased family you wish to remember and please put an offering in the envelope and please pass on to Fr. John Paul or put into the collection plate or leave upon the Altar. The names that you write down will be remembered at all the masses through the month of November. Our prayers for the Holy Souls are very important and it is an important prayer to do because one day we will need the prayers of the church to guide our souls to the glory of heaven.

October Devotions: today (Sunday 20th October) there will be Rosary and Benediction at 4.00pm in St. Brendan’s in Craigston.

Funeral: of MARY FLORA BUCHANAN (Mairi Floraidh a’ Glindich of Eoligarry) will be on Tuesday 29th October at 11.00am in St. Vincent’s in Eoligarry. Mary Flora’s remains will be received into Eoligarry church on Monday 28th October evening (once the boat comes in).  

Special Collection: today there will be a special collection for the sick and retired priests of the Diocese.

Borve Graveyard: a new stock-proof fence will be put around the whole perimeter of Borve graveyard.

Eucharistic Ministers:  Fr. John Paul will be asking some parishioners to take on the role of being a Eucharistic Minister in our parishes. Sorry for the delay in organising this but hopefully soon this will happen!!
