Bhileag 23rd December 2018

Christmas Mass Times: please note the Mass times for Christmas. There will be 6 Christmas Masses at various times and in the various Churches on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Let’s make sure we go along to one of our Holy Masses this Christmas and receive the blessings of our Lord Jesus upon ourselves and upon our families. CHRISTmas begins with CHRIST! Jesus is the gift that perfectly fits the size of every heart! The greatest Christmas gift of all was never placed beneath a tree, he lay within a manger for the entire world to see! Jesus took his place in a Manger so that we might have a home in heaven! Let us make sure we keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas! The beauty of Christmas is not in the presents but in HIS PRESENCE!  Jesus is the reason for the season!

Sacrament of Confession: Monday 24th December from 11am-11.45am in Castlebay Church.

Recent Funeral: we pray for the repose of the soul of ELIZABETH GALLAGHER (formally Betty MacNeil from Glen/Garrygall) who died on the 13th December in Glasgow at the age of 90. Betty’s remains were brought back to Barra and the Requiem Mass took place on Thursday 20th December in Our Lady Star of the Sea and afterwards Betty was laid to rest in Cuithir Cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Christmas Church Cleaning: Fr. John Paul wishes to thank all those who cleaned and prepared our churches for Christmas. As always a lot of hard work goes on “behind the scenes”. Moran Taing uile!

Christingle Service: there is a Christingle service in the Church of Scotland on Sunday 23rd December at 4pm. All welcome.

Fr. John Paul & Fr. Emmanuel wish everyone a very happy & Holy Christmas. May the Lord Jesus bless you and all your families this Christmas……. Nollaig Chridheil!
