Special Collection: next weekend there will be a 2nd collection for the Ecclesiastical students fund of the Diocese. Bishop Brian writes to all parishes-“This year has brought great blessings for our diocese. In June Rev Emmanuel Alagbaoso was ordained to the priesthood and Rev Ronald Campbell to the diaconate. Fr Emmanuel is now serving as a priest on Barra. Deacon Ronald returns to Rome this week and will be ordained a priest next summer. Meanwhile Philip Bua has been accepted as a seminarian and he begins his studies in the Beda College, Rome next week. Having two students gives our whole diocese great hope. Please pray for them and for all of our priests. However, training seminarians is expensive. I thank you for last year’s Collection for seminarians which raised £10,000. Our costs this year will be £57,000. Please be as generous as you can in your special collections for our seminarians. Thank you.”

Recent Funeral: we pray for the repose of the soul of RODDY MacNEIL ( Roddy Mhurachaidh Thoiramad of Ardmhor)) who peacefully died in Ayr at the age of 80. Roddy’s funeral took place on Thursday 13th September in St. Barr’s Northbay and Roddy was then laid to rest in Eoligarry graveyard. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Future Wedding: next Saturday 22nd September there will be a Nuptial Mass for the wedding of Marion MacNeil and Alistair MacNeil at 3.00pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea. Let us remember Marion and Alick in our prayers as they prepare for their wedding day. If members of the choir could be available to come along and help in the Nuptial Mass hymns. Thank you!

Fr. John Paul: has had to go away and cover the parish of Skye for this weekend as Fr William MacLean is spending valuable time with his mum who is dying. Let us remember Antonia MacLean and all our sick and dying at this time and pray for them and their families. Fr John Paul returns on Wednesday of this week.

Canon Angus MacQueen: Sadly last Tuesday Canon Angus fell in the Home and had to be flown out to Hospital in Glasgow. He had an operation on Wednesday afternoon in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow and is recuperating from surgery on his hip. Canon Angus will be 95 in November. Let’s pray that he will have a speedy recovery from his operation and will be back among us soon.
