There are 17 children preparing for the sacrament this year -which is a great number! Let us remember all the children and their sponsors in our prayers. All Welcome!

Practice for the Sacrament of Confirmation: There will be a practice for the 17 children along with their sponsors on Thursday 19th April at 6.30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea.

SCIAF wee Boxes: the “final call” for all SCIAF wee boxes. All Boxes need to be brought to the church by next Sunday 22nd April.

Good Shepherd Sunday: next Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Easter and is Good Shepherd Sunday- a day we pray for more Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. Bishop Brian will celebrate all the Sunday Masses and also there will be a Holy hour on Sunday 22nd April in St. Barr’s in Northbay at 4.00pm for prayers for Vocations to the Priesthood- let us unite and pray for this special intention.

Recent Baptism: we warmly welcome into the family of the church IONA MHAIRI MACKINNON who was baptised last Saturday 7th April in Our Lady Star of the Sea in Castlebay. May God continue to pour out his blessings upon Iona and her family and Godparents at this holy time of Easter.

The “Rosary on the Coast”: will take place on the Traigh Mhor in Eoligarry at 3.00pm on Sunday 29th April. There is plenty parking there, also access to toilet facilities. The last plane leaves at 12.20pm and thereafter we have the beach to ourselves! There is of course easy access for cars to drive straight onto the beach and for our housebound to be a part of the Rosary. We will make one big circle on the beach to represent the rosary- and have the children a part of it too. Each decade of the Rosary will be represented by each of the 5 churches on the islands. Bishop Brian has encouraged all within the Diocese to go to the coast on Sunday 29th April and unite as a country in prayer. After the Rosary there will be refreshments in Northbay Hall. All welcome!
